Business Aviation, Business Development, Marketing, Project Management in Unterfranken and Berlin

December 2009 to September 2021
Altus Aviation was founded in 2009, along with a partner in the United States, and specialized as agents in the marketing and trade of business jets and helicopters.

Working with Altus, I met some extraordinary people, had some even more extraordinary experiences and it brought me to places in this world, I otherwise never would have gone, from swimming in Abu Dhabi in 50 degree heat, to hovering at over 5,000 feet in the middle of Anatolia, to driving through Sweden in the middle of a very bright, mid-summer night
.

Any given project could span several months, multiple time zones, different languages, cultures, and various regulatory bodies. Sometimes a project would involve up to 50 stakeholders from the Boardroom to maintenance workers, all with various motivations.

June 2013 to February 2016
In 2013, along with two other founders, I founded Die Urlaubsretter, a company which bought and converted vintage firetrucks to camper vans and rented them to vacationers.

The Mercedes Benz Düsseldorfer 408, affectionately called Düdos, are beautiful old trucks that still smell like old garages and tractor grease.

I worked primarily on the marketing and operations side, and was very happy when we were able to sell the company as a going concern, which is still in operation.

It was very rewarding work to see vacationing families, especially with small children come to pick up their firetruck, and to see moms and dads get younger when they got to sit behind the wheel of a firetruck.

Business Aviation, Business Development, Marketing, Project Management in Unterfranken and Berlin

July 2016 to May 2019
For three years, I worked as a Business Development Consultant for Heron Aviation, a company specializing in the management and operation of business jets on behalf of owners.

I helped to develop and implement repeatable sales and marketing processes for charter clients and management acquisitions.

And worked closely with the CEO daily on business development strategies including acquisitions of other companies.

During tenure the fleet increased from three to seven aircraft, and expanded to include a subsidiary in Spain.

Spring 2007 to December 2009
Working for Direct-Aviation was my introduction to the Business Aviation industry. Direct Aviation was based in the United Kingdom, with a satellite office in Dresden, Germany. It was here where I sharpened my skills in market research and analysis and began honing mz marketing skills.

One highlight included working PR and marketing when the company's jet was used on the filmset of The Ghostwriter (a film with Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor) at Strausberg Airfield outside of Berlin.

Document Research, Due Diligence, Project Management in Mellrichstadt, Unterfranken and Berlin

June 2002 to Autumn 2007
Unsure of what to do following my graduation from the University, I took a job at the Ohio Insurance Liquidator, an organization responsible for the liquidation of insolvent insurance companies.

I began in data entry, summarizing documents in a few brief sentences for forensic accountants and attorneys. After a while, I came to manage a team of between 10-15 warehouse and database workers, while also getting more work in reviewing documents related to the case.

Eventually, I began to notice patterns in the timelines and communications of multiple employees at the Insolvent Insurance company and was able to help the accountants and attorneys establish documentary evidence of wrongdoing.

When, a few years later, I decided to move to Turkey, I was asked to stay on as a remote consultant in order to support on multiple cases. This was my first real remote work, which continued for two more years.

Since 2004
Over the years I have been a Freel
ance Consultant on various jobs including:

Concept Consulting for companies such as Körner Eventkommunikation, Workhacks

Project Management for Aeroprojx International, Rubicon Investments

Editing for content, clarity and literary direction for authors

Editing/Proofreading of texts for various clients and Copywriting - German to English translations for various companies

Consulting, Business Development, Social Impact, Marketing, Project Management in Mellrichstadt, Unterfranken and Berlin

From 1999 to 2001, I gained some experience in Journalism, working for a while in the Public Relations Department at Capital University, as an editor at Purpose Magazine, as a Columnist and finally as Editor-in-Chief at the Chimes, Capital University's Student Newspaper, managing a team of 27.
